Are you unhappy at work?

Unhappy at work

Unhappy at Work ? Maybe this is why –

Work, they say, is worship. But what if it brings stress instead of peace. If an employee is unhappy at work, he/she will become an unproductive professional. In the below post, we will discuss the reasons that make an employee an unhappy one.

1. Boredom

Often seen among the younger lot, boredom at work can make employees extremely unhappy and might also increase absenteeism. The reason could be carrying out routine work day in and day out. So to avoid boredom, managers should throw challenges at them every now and then.

2. Undefined Goals

It’s not an alien phenomenon to see companies not communicating their set goal to the employees. Employees who are serious about work and their career like to work in the direction of a common vision. Else, such professionals will find themselves lost, leading to unhappiness in their professional lives.

3. Culture Vulture

An employee who has, in the past, worked in an environment which gave him the freedom to voice his opinion will find it stifling to work in an atmosphere which has the “the boss is always right” attitude.

4. Office Politics

Lately, it is advocated that to be successful at work, you should have an element of shrewdness. But this rule doesn’t apply to the entire workforce. Few people don’t like to indulge in office gossip and petty politics which may make them feel that they will never be able to overpower the manipulative measures of others with their honest efforts.

Now that we know some reasons that make employees unhappy, in an upcoming post we will see how to solve the problem.
