We all get nervous before an interview. If you face interview nervousness , here are some ways to keep calm:
1. Be Prepared
When the Prime Minister addresses the nation, even he has to be prepared otherwise he will not know what to say. Same is the case when you go for an interview. If you are prepared, you will not be nervous and you will be able to answer all questions the interviewer asks you.
Before you go for the interview you must make all the preparation. Being well-prepared means you will be confident when you walk into the interview room and will not be quiet and nervous.
2. Be fresh and focussed
You must have a good night’s sleep before you the interview. This will keep you fresh and alert before the interview. Do not drink alcohol, have a bath and go to bed early the night before the interview. In the morning your mind will be focussed for the interview.
3. Leave in time for the interview
Be on time so that you are not late for your interview. If you are stuck in a traffic jam or are late you will get nervous and will not be ready for the interview. Being late for an interview also does not make a good impression on the interviewer.
4. Take long deep breaths
Deep breathing relaxes the mind and the body and helps you remain calm.
Before the job interview control your breathing. Place one hand on your stomach and take a deep breath in. Hold your breath for a few seconds and then breathe out. When you feel nervous, practice this deep breathing routine in intervals of ten.
5. Think positively
When you feel nervous about the interview, think of something positive which makes you feel good.
Imagine yourself answering all the questions confidently, that the interviewer is very impressed with you, that you have good news from the company regarding your interview and that you have the job.
And please smile. Smile on the day of the interview and smile till you leave the interview room. Similing keeps you happy and then you can face any problem with ease.
