First of all, you are not a duffer, you are just new to this. Don’t let yourself be defeated by a challenge. Many times we only realise the need for something like English when it affects our career and then we try to learn everything in 1-2 months. This is impossible with any language.

You should think of English like physical exercise. If you have to participate in a marathon you cannot do some exercise or try to run very fast and think you will be ready. English doesn’t follow clear rules, so you cannot learn it by just asking for tips. You have to practice running longer and longer distances everyday till you achieve the distance you want.

Similarly, with English language communication the only solution is to practice speaking in English regularly for 3-4 months. As a language, English is There are some good ways to sharpen your knowledge during these 3-4 months:

  1. The best way is to practice speaking with a friend who is good with English. Try to have at least a 30-60 minute conversation everyday with him/her discussing your favourite movies, studies or office work.
  2. Read magazines about your interests. If you pick a sports magazine or s current affairs magazine you will learn without getting bored.

These 2 habits will help you increase your command by a huge amount. You will gain confidence and speed while having fun.
